Mindful Mondays: Time With Jesus Rooted and Radiant – Week Seventeen Becoming: Something New Is Taking Shape

Let’s sit together for a minute.
Maybe you have your coffee in hand. Maybe this is a quiet moment in the middle of a full day. Either way, I’m really glad you’re here.

I wonder if you’ve noticed something lately… something small, but different.

Not dramatic.
Not fully formed.
But present.

A pause where there used to be a reaction.
A thought that feels more grounded in truth.
A quieter response where something louder once lived.

You may not even recognize it right away.

It doesn’t feel like a breakthrough.
It doesn’t feel like arrival.
But something is shifting.

What was once automatic is now interrupted.
What once felt like the only option now has space around it.
What once felt heavy may feel just a little bit lighter.

And it can be easy to overlook.

To dismiss it as small.
To question if it really counts.
To assume it’s not enough yet to matter.

But this is how growth often begins to show.

Not all at once.
Not fully developed.
But forming.

What has been happening beneath the surface is beginning to take shape.

The time you’ve spent staying with Jesus…
The ways you’ve been returning to truth…
The quiet choices you’ve made to remain…

They are not lost.
They are becoming.

Scripture reminds us that God is not only present in the beginning of our journey, but He is faithful to continue the work He has started.

Not rushed.
Not forced.
But steady and intentional.

What He begins, He completes.

Scripture Reading

Let these words settle into your heart slowly.

2 Corinthians 3:16–18 NLT
Philippians 1:6 NLT

Pause and Reflect

Take a few moments to sit with what you noticed from Scripture. You may want to journal or reflect quietly.

You might consider:

Where have I begun to notice even the smallest signs of change?
What feels different in my thoughts, responses, or reactions lately?
Have I been overlooking or minimizing growth because it feels small?
What might it look like to recognize and honor what God is forming in me?

Soul Care Practice – Noticing and Naming What Is New

This week, we practice noticing and naming.

Begin by becoming still. Take a slow breath and quiet your heart before God.
Ask gently:
“Jesus, where are You forming something new in me?”

Let your mind and heart settle.

As something comes to mind, don’t just notice it – name it.

You might write it down or speak it quietly:

“I am pausing more.”
“My thoughts are shifting.”
“I responded differently.”

Let it be simple and honest.
Then take one more step:
Thank Him for it.
“Jesus, thank You for this change in me.”

This is not about striving for more
It is about recognizing what is already being formed.

Growth does not need to be dramatic to be real.
When you notice it, name it, and thank Him for it…
you begin to partner with what He is doing.

Carry It With You

As you move through your week, pay attention to the moments that feel just a little different.

A pause.
A softer response.
A choice that feels more aligned with truth than it once did.

You don’t need to analyze it or hold onto it tightly.
Just let it remind you: Something is changing.

And when you catch yourself slipping back into old patterns, let that be an invitation – not a discouragement.
A quiet reminder to return again.

You might simply pray:
“Jesus, keep forming what You are growing in me.”

Then keep going.

Noticing less about how far you have to go…
and more about the quiet ways God is already at work within you.

If you’d like, I’d love to hear what you’re noticing in this season. You can share in the comments here or join the conversation in the Mindful Mondays Facebook Group as we walk this out together.

Keep walking forward with Jesus and I’ll meet you back here next week!
