Good morning, friends.
Have you ever done something kind for someone and found yourself hoping they would know it was you?
I don’t mean because you wanted praise. Sometimes we simply long to know that what we did mattered. We wonder if they noticed, if they felt loved, or if they realized someone was quietly caring for them.
I think that’s a very human desire.
This week, though, Jesus gently invited me to consider something different.
What if love is still beautiful, even when no one knows where it came from?

As I sat with that thought, I found myself remembering the people who quietly shaped my life. Some encouraged me with handwritten notes. Others faithfully prayed without ever mentioning it. Friends, teachers, and mentors simply loved well, often without realizing how deeply they influenced my story.
Most of them probably have no idea how deeply they influenced my life.
Isn’t that often how God’s Kingdom works?

Pause and Reflect
As I spent time with these passages this week, I realized Jesus wasn’t simply teaching us how to serve. He was inviting us to look at the quiet motivations of our hearts.
It’s natural to hope our kindness makes a difference. But somewhere along the way, it’s easy to begin measuring our faithfulness by whether someone noticed, appreciated, or thanked us.
Jesus offers us something far better.
He reminds us that our Father sees what others never will.
Every whispered prayer.
Every hidden sacrifice.
Every quiet act of love.
None of it is wasted.
Looking back, I realized that many of the people who most reflected Jesus to me probably have no idea they did. They weren’t trying to leave a legacy. They were simply walking closely with Him, and His love naturally overflowed into the lives around them.
Maybe that’s one of the quiet mysteries of God’s Kingdom.
The seeds that change the most lives are rarely planted in the spotlight.
Jesus lived that way. He noticed the overlooked, stopped for the forgotten, and loved people well. As we remain close to Him, His heart quietly becomes our own.
We don’t reflect Jesus by trying harder.
We reflect Him by remaining closer.
Soul Care Practice: Hidden Blessings
Spend a few quiet moments with Jesus today and ask,
“Lord, who is on YOUR heart today?”
Don’t rush to answer. Simply sit with Him and listen.
When someone comes to mind, ask Him how you might quietly reflect His love this week. Perhaps it’s an encouraging note, a meal, a prayer, paying for someone’s coffee, or simply taking the time to really listen.
If possible, let it remain between you and Jesus.
Then release the outcome to Him.
You’re not responsible for how your kindness is received. You’re simply joining Jesus in loving someone He already loves.
Carry It With You
This week, before entering each new place, quietly pray,
“Jesus, help me notice what You notice.”
Pray it before work.
Before church.
Before walking into the grocery store.
Before coming home at the end of the day.
You may discover that the opportunities to love were there all along. We simply begin seeing them differently as our hearts become more like His.
Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for the countless ways You have loved us, many of which we’ve never even recognized. Long before we knew Your name, You were already pursuing us with kindness, surrounding us with people and moments that reflected Your faithful care.
Teach us to love like that. Free us from needing recognition, and help us find joy in simply walking with You. Open our eyes to notice the people You notice, and give us the courage to love quietly, generously, and faithfully.
May our lives point people toward You, not because we’ve done something remarkable, but because Your love has become increasingly visible in us.
Thank You that You see every hidden act of faithfulness and delight in multiplying even the smallest seeds planted in love.
In Your precious name, Amen.
Until Next Monday…
Thank you for spending a little time with me today.
As you go through this week, don’t put pressure on yourself to do something extraordinary. Simply remain close to Jesus and trust Him to lead you into the ordinary moments where His love is already at work.
The beautiful thing about seeds is that they disappear into the soil long before anyone sees what they will become. Love often works the same way. The quiet moments of faithfulness, offered to Jesus with an open heart, are often the very moments He chooses to multiply.
I’ll meet you back here next Monday. Until then, may you continue to remain rooted in His love, reflect His heart in both the seen and unseen moments, and discover the quiet joy of partnering with Him in the ordinary rhythms of everyday life.
